ModHMary is a modern take on our holiest of holy mothers, the queen bee herself, Mary. She was the 1st saint, chosen by God to do his will. To honor Mary is a gesture of veneration, but not to be mistaken for worship. The Catholic Church places Mary in the company of saints, not Christ. Mary is considered mother to all, a woman who made a true sacrifice of love for God and for that we offer her much respect.
Here at ModHMary you will find a different approach to honoring Mary. Forget about the heavy historical imagery and dramatic Gregorian chanting. No finger wagging tales of doom but a lighter, fresher, contemporary hip-hip-hurray, if you will.
ModHMary hasn’t forgotten about the saints either. Catholics honor saints (again, not using the worship word here) because we think they are oh so dandy and good old folk who sincerely dedicated their lives to Christ. When we pray to a saint we are only asking them to intercede to God our intentions. A “put in a good word” nudge, nudge. Not unlike if you were to ask a friend to pray on your behalf because, darn, you can’t remember where it was you put that meat-loaf recipe, a Catholic would ask St. Anthony for help.
ModHMary’s purpose is to put believing and faith back into fashion. Take a lookie-see around the site to see that we’re not half-cocked, half-crazed, or just plain weird. We offer quality, God-honoring, artistic and beau-ti-ful items. Can I get an Amen!
